Grants

NSFC

Metamorphic evolution and geochronology of the Taihua Metamorphic Complex

Courses

Geochemical thermodynamics

Based on principles of classical equilibrium thermodynamics, this course introduces Gibbs’ free energy method to geological processes to dissolve scientific problems in magmatic and metamorphic systems.

Metamorphic geology

Metamorphic terranes involved deformation, metamorphism and element redistribution during a metamorphic process. Metamorphic geology applies structural, geochronological and metamorphic reaction analyses to decipher tectonic processes of metamorphic terrains.

Seminars in petrological thermodynamics

Systematic thermodynamic analyses are introduced to simulate magmatic, metamorphic and metallogenetic processes, using Gibbs’ free energy, activity estimation, thermobarometry and phase diagrams.
